Agnese Cecchin
I am a first-year PhD student at the University of Debrecen, investigating the reproductive strategies and conservation of shorebirds in Hungary. Specifically, I am interested in studying evolutionary and population dynamics and applying them to solve real-life conservation issues.
For my PhD project I will take part in the LIFE for Bugs and Birds project (LIFE20 NAT/HU/001404) to monitor changes in the breeding bird population following habitat restoration measures.
Current Focus
Previous Research and Other Interests
My previous experiences have shaped me in both evolutionary research and practical conservation fieldwork and reflect my curiosity and passion for diverse study subjects.
Working at SEO/BirdLife in Doñana National Park, I had the opportunity to be involved in multiple bird monitoring interventions/ initiatives, I practiced field methods and honed my passion for bird conservation. In addition, I conducted research on population dynamics in the common Snapdragon (Antirrhinum majus) with the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA) which shaped my all-around research expertise.
